Play the Munchkin Collectible Card Game at your local game store!

October 17, 2017

Play the Munchkin Collectible Card Game at your local game store! Get prizes, try a draft, meet other players, have fun.

The Goldfish Wanderer in his mighty fishbowl faces off against his opponent –another mighty Goldfish Wanderer! He’s powered by a deck full of Mischief and direct damage cards like Kaboom!, and he’s ready to smoke his opponent. But the opposing Goldfish Wanderer commands a deck full of monsters such as the Lame Goblin and the Vampire Cat, plus plenty of card-drawing action. She may be able to survive the onslaught, especially since she’s awfully darn good at bluffing.

This is the kind of epic battle you can have in a draft event of the Munchkin Collectible Card Game! What battles will you have? The only way to find out is to get down to your local game store and play in a few drafts yourself!

We will make it worth your while. Each time Steve Jackson Games releases a Munchkin Collectible Card Game set, we’ll also release an Organized Play Kit full of draft Heroes and prize support.

Because when you go down to your local game store for a tournament or casual play, we want you to come away with a great experience – and some new swag!

Currently, we plan for each kit to include:

  • 32 copies of a neutral Hero card – Every Munchkin Collectible Card Game deck needs a Hero. But when you draft, you may not pull one. That’s where our Wanderer Heroes comes in. Players participating in a draft event will get a Wanderer before drafting begins; Wanderer Hero decks can contain cards from any and all classes.

  • 16 copies of a special, limited prize card – These cards may be alternate-art, full art, or special in another way.

  • 16 copies of a different special, limited prize card

  • 4 copies of a rarer prize, which may or may not be a card – These might be unique cards, but they may also be unique level dials, special tokens, or something else.

  • 1 poster – Stores will put these up to let players know they carry the latest set of the Munchkin Collectible Card Game.

  • Tournament suggestion sheet – A guide to making sure the store’s draft or constructed tournament goes well.

Local game stores that order enough Munchkin Collectible Card Game booster packs will get their first OP kit free, so players: Stop by your favorite store and give them a preorder form reserving yourself some boosters and a starter or two. And if they don’t know about the Organized Play program, let them know that they are available for purchase by retailers on Warehouse 23. Retailers who don’t already have a Warehouse 23 retailer’s account should email organizedplay@sjgames.com to get one, or with any questions or comments about the Munchkin Collectible Card Game OP program. Please note that OP kits are available only to retailers in the United States and Canada.

The first Organized Play Kit, available in February 2018 when the core set of the Munchkin Collectible Card Game releases, features the Goldfish Wanderer plus alternate-art versions of three neutral cards (that is, cards with no class).

So get to your local game store, enter some events, win some prizes, and crush friends and enemies alike beneath your Boots of Butt-Kicking.
